Cremation Ceremony

Cremation can be performed before or after the memorial service. Some families choose to hold a traditional open-casket viewing ceremony beforehand. This gives loved ones a chance to say their last goodbyes and feel a sense of closure before proceeding with the cremation. Others opt to hold their ceremony after the cremation. Often in this type of ceremony, the funeral urn containing the cremated remains or “cremains” is on display along with cherished photos of the deceased taken during his or her lifetime. This allows mourners to focus on the life, rather than the death, of the deceased.
